Bass – Nordstrand Nordy VJ4 custom-built Jazz bass, strung with Thomastik-Infeld SuperAlloys or Jazz Flatwound strings for jazz purposes e.g. LUU Big Band’s studio album. Sometimes an ebony plectrum.

Amplification – Genz Benz Shuttle 300-watt mini-stack.

Accordion — An old Italian 48-button piano accordion made by Orfeo, who were apparently active until 1951.

Software – For writing and arranging etc. I use Sibelius 7 and Logic Pro. I recently worked at Sibelius providing tech and musical support, and learned loads of clever tricks from the very knowledgeable Joe Pearson. Get in contact if you’d like to see examples of scores I’ve written.
